Preserving Pizza Purity

In my opinion, pineapple should never go on one pizza. I think we can all agree pizza and fruit are two different things from two different families. When someone thinks pizza you see bread, cheese, marinara sauce, and an assortment of meats and veggies so why in what world should fruit even remotely be mentioned near it? It shouldn’t. But for the sake of journalism let’s dive into both sides and see why pineapple shouldn’t be on pizza. First, let’s go into food families. Pizza is a breaded thin or thick cheesy and gooey goodness versus a natural sweet tropical fruit. Apart from being very good, together they shouldn’t be. Pineapple is something meant to be enjoyed alone or with other tropical fruits. Even popular news sites agree amhsnews.org says "That’s like watermelon and pesto". Pineapple and pizza shouldn't be shared because it doesn't make sense or taste good.

In summary, the case against pineapple on pizza boils down to their distinct characteristics and disgust that have continued among society for several years. Even one of our own comets says "Pineapple on pizza isn't good unless you eat the pineapple first then the pizza, so it's basically not good". Pizza and pineapple clash in composition and flavor, making their combination unnatural. This difference challenges the idea of merging them in the same dish. Even in grocery stores, their separate placements highlight their distinction. If even producers keep them apart, the question comes up: Why do we insist on uniting them?

Think about a grocery store. Rows and rows of household items. Think about pizza in a grocery store, usually found in the frozen foods section right? Now think about pineapple you'd probably walk to a fruit or fresh foods section. Now let's see, not anywhere remotely close to each other. Along with this, large names like Guðni Th Jóhannesson (president of Iceland) also have said they hate pineapple pizza, 2017 Jóhannesson tweeted on Twitter that he would “ban pineapple pizza if [he] had the power to set laws.” Even the people who produce these products and sell them think they don't belong together so why do we?
