This week's art hub article is by one of our writers on the ORBIT Website!
Sydney Medina's "Creepy Dolls" artwork is our Halloween Art Special! Sydney Medina is an 8th-grader who loves a good laugh, volleyball, and many other amazing things. Mrs. Parkhurst assigned her students to create an art piece of their worst fears. Quite obviously, Sydney's worst fear is dolls. It took Synedy around 3-4 hours to make this illustration. She used her imagination, Pinterest inspiration, charcoal, and Sharpie markers to create this. Given her great writing skills, she also has a great talent for creating art! Sydney's costume this year on a spooky 2024 Halloween was a cowgirl. Her artwork, Creepy Dolls, gave many students at Classen goosebumps and chills! Some students referred to them as "possessed dolls". What makes this art even creepier is the limited use of color. Different shades of gray, black, and red were used. If you look closely, the dolls in the artwork look like vintage porcelain dolls.
