What if World War II ended differently? Let’s say Japan never bombed pearl harbor. The United States would have never entered the war meaning we wouldn’t have dropped the atomic bombs that caused Japan to surrender. What if Adolf Hitler had never committed suicide? Hitler’s dealth led to Germany surrendering. Hitler was secretly planning to join Japan in the war to invade and attack the U.S. How many different possibilities could there be? A lot, I’ll just say.
On January 30, 1933, Hitler became chancellor of Germany. September 1, 1939, World War II started. What were Hitler’s intentions with starting the war? Let’s take a look at Hitler’s life. Did you know Hitler was a momma’s boy? While Hitler’s father pushed and pressured him about school, his mother, Klara, constantly supported his dreams of becoming an artist, always telling him that someday he would be a great success. Hitler’s mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Klara’s doctor, Eduard Bloch had to break the news to Adolf. Describing 17-year-old Adolf Hitler, Bloch said, “Outwardly, his love for his mother was his most striking feature. I have never witnessed a closer attachment.” Bloch wanted to try an experimental treatment on Hitler’s mother that used the chemical lodoform, that he hoped would stop her cancer but instead poisoned her. Eduard Bloch was jewish, leading lots of sources to believe that Hitler wanted revenge on Klara Hitler’s death by cleansing the world of Jews. But that doesn’t match the facts. In fact, Hitler was so grateful for Bloch that he ordered Nazis to go easy on him and let him immagrate out of the country.

What if Hitler was never granted the position of becoming chancellor? Hitler was elected by the people. Lots of sources say that it was the peoples faults for electing him because other anti-semites (a person who is hostile or prejudiced against Jewish people) cared more about Jews being wiped out more than they did about their own freedoms. Is it the peoples faults? How can we justify killing 45,000,000 million people simply because we dont have the same beliefs as them? World War II was the biggest and deadliest war the planet has ever seen, yet people try to justify it.
Milton Kesten conducted an interview in which she asked,
A portrait of Adolf Hitler
“If you would see a Nazi on the street and there is no one else around, and you know that it’s one of the guys who shot and who is responsible for the deaths of many Jews and you have a gun…”
The interviewee quickly interrupted and responded with, “I would shoot him.” Kesten asked, “You have no problem shooting him?” He responded, “No. No feeling at all. I would shoot him on the spot.”
What are some other thoughts on this subject? “The holocaust is the saddest part of our history. I have read many accounts of how people turned against the neighbors and fellow countrymen but at the same time it represents the greatest example of heroism by other who risked their lives to save others.”, says 5th grade english and history teacher, Sara White.
So whats my opinion? I think that if the countries had just agreed to signing the fourteen points (which focused on trade equality, ending of secrete treaties, and alliances, freedom of the seas, and the establishment of the League of Nations) instead of the Treaty of Versailles (which required that Germany pay financial reparations, disarm, lose territory, and give up all of its overseas colonies), we could have avoided World War II, led to less resentment in Germany, it would’ve helped lessen the devastation of the great depression, and it could have helped monitor Hitler a little more closely.
