Chicken Catastrophe:
Lady sues over allergic reaction to recipe change
What is going on?
A mother named Francine Powers is suing Chick-fil-A for a recipe change that caused her son to be sent to the hospital. "She sent this complaint to the supreme court for negligence, infliction of emotional distress, and unfair and deceptive business", according to today.com. this was believed to be due to a recipe change adding dairy to the breading mix. though most of us would say this would be bad, legally there is no law saying a business like Chick-fil-A needs to mention a recipe change. That includes if there are changes that include ingredients that are common allergies.
These companies should still mention the changes even if the law say otherwise. especially because many people have allergies to common ingredients.

Background
The teenager was supposedly at a pool party where the franchiser was informed of the allergy and assured there was no dairy in the nugs. This happened August 13th 10 days prior to the change in guidelines to mention the dairy in the nuggets. "Shortly after eating the grilled nuggets his throat started to close up and his mouth foamed sending him to the hospital" according to Business Insider. which led to the lawsuit of Chick-fil-A to pay for medical bills from the allergic reaction.
Where is this going for the future of the fast food industry?
Will this convince the government to pass a law telling businesses to mention recipe changes? probably not knowing the fast food industry, but I think it might spark some change in the industry. If we do get a law forcing restaurants to mention recipe changes, what would it look like? how long would they have to mention it? where do they mention it? how noticeable does it have to be? these questions are what is holding back a law like this. Though here is my solution. have the product under the name in noticeable text say at least "new recipe" or something along those lines, and for the length I think 3-6 months. also have a note on the back saying "If you have not bought this product in 3-6 months check ingredients for any allergies."
For one month, at the bottom semi-bold, after the name of the product

What is going on right now?
This news has been spreading over the news recently on websites like "Business Insider" to eat "This Not That". So far there has been no release of the court date, but I could see one in at least 6 months from now. though I have a feeling that this might turn into an out of court settlement.
Summary
To wrap this up a lady is suing chick fil a over a recipe change that caused a severe allergic reaction. some people at a glance might see it as a karen complaining, but once you start digging it gets more complicated. It makes you think more on how unrestricted by law the restaurant industry is. most of the things they do most of there things out of courtesy.
